MEMBERS of a Youth Club who took part in a micro adventure are showing a film of their difficult challenge as part of an adventure evening.
Youngsters from Holt Youth Club filmed themselves walking from Seend to Holt and are currently editing the footage together to show on September 6, where a talk from Gloucestershire based adventurer Anna McNuff, who recently cycled along The Andes, will also give a talk.
The group of 10-12-year-olds battled the pouring rain, walking 15 kilometers in total and sleeping without tents in the grounds of Courts Gardens, getting drenched in the process.
They cooked breakfast on gas stoves before returning to Holt that morning.
The adventure evening will take place at Holt Village Hall at 7pm, and tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children under 16.
Money raised from the adventure evening will go towards the running of the youth club.
Youth club leader Rob Curtis said: “In recent years, Wiltshire Council stopped paying for Youth Clubs and so they have to find money themselves, such as get grants.
“But I thought it would be good to get the kids to do something to raise a bit of money by doing a sponsored micro adventure.”
