EXCITEMENT is building among the singers at the Trowbridge Chorus as they prepare for a festive concert with an Austrian/German theme.
Led by musical director and conductor Graham Dalby, a graduate of Trinity College of Music London and the founder of the internationally renowned London Swing Orchestra, the singers will perform pieces from Schubert, Brahms, Bach, along with English carols.
“We have managed to convince one or two people to sing for us which is great. Everyone cannot wait to get started,” he said.
“I have worked with 100 piece orchestras and spent 30 years as a professional but I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to this. Everyone is so enthusiastic, it is brilliant.
“If we can get some young blood in that would be great too, to keep the chorus going for another 110 years or more.” We will have the wonderful Ben Jarvis on the piano, I can assure you it will be a real treat.
Trowbridge Chorus, who changed their name from The Trowbridge Philharmonic Choral Society earlier this year, appear in concert at St James’ Church on December 9 at 7.30pm, tickets £10 from www.ticketsource.co.uk/trowbridge-chorus
