TROWBRIDGE-based technician Andy Bigwood has made the final shortlist for an award at the annual British Science Fiction Association Awards.
Andy's submission, Cracked World, has made the final four for the Best Artwork of 2007 Award which will be presented at the British national science fiction convention on March 22.
Cracked World appeared on the cover of disLocations - a collection of nine stories written by some of the best new and established science fiction writers.
Andy's artwork shows a curved landscape distorting the world to reflect the title of the book.
He uses similar computer skills during his day job at Mouchel using CAD software for bridge and highways improvement projects on behalf of Wiltshire County Council.
He said: "Getting nominated for a national award is completely new territory for me and I am looking forward to it.
"My art is a hobby and something I enjoy. I really didn't expect to get nominated, let alone make the shortlist, so we will see how I get on in March."
Andy has worked on the design and maintenance of Wiltshire's bridges since 1983 and transferred to Mouchel in 1999.
