FIREFIGHTERS are investigating the cause of a blaze in the former Peter Black factory in Trowbridge on Saturday night.
Crews from Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon and Westbury were alerted to the blaze on the ground floor at about 9.40pm. A man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Crews used six breathing apparatus, one hose reel and thermal imaging cameras during the operation. It is not the first time a fire has broken out in the empty factory buildings, which are known to be used by squatters.
The land at Cradle Bridge, including the former factory building, has been bought by developer Thiyan Investments.
The fire started in a cooker but the homeowners were alerted to the blaze by their smoke alarms. One man was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
