Trowbridge stabbing victim dies in hospital

Shaun Hulbert Shaun Hulbert

The victim of a stabbing last month in Trowbridge has died in hospital.

Shaun Hulbert, 25, was stabbed in the chest during an incident outside Manor House Flats on Frome Road on July 24 and had needed emergency surgery to save his life.

He had been recovering at home in Aldeburgh Place, Trowbridge, on August 12 when he suffered complications arising from that surgery and was rushed to Bristol Royal Infirmary where he had remained ever since.

On Saturday Mr Hulbert died at hospital. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Shane Gulliver, 33, of Navigator Close, Hilperton, had been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to the stabbing.

He remains in custody and is due to appear at Salisbury Crown Court at a later date.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Detectives will be speaking to the Crown Prosecution Service to determine the appropriate next step.”
