Survey aims to gauge strength of Warminster economy
Business confidence surveys were handed out to retailers in Warminster Town Centre recently, with Warminster and Villages Community Partnership due to collect the results tomorrow.
The forms, which are part of this year’s benchmarking process, are produced by Action for Market Towns, a UK national organisation promoting the vitality and viability of small towns.
As part of the questionnaire, each business is asked for positive and negative aspects of trading in the town and ideas to improve the town’s performance.
Businesses will also be asked how long they have been in Warminster, as well as turnover trends and whether the business has suffered any crime in the last year.
Len Turner, chair of Warminster and Villages Community Partnership, said: “The aim of this survey is to assess how the town’s economy is performing.
“Returns in previous years have provided valuable information. This new survey will help determine trends and guide future prosperity.
“We need as many businesses as possible to respond since it will help the town identify issues of concern.”
Retailers will also be asking customers to give part of their post codes in order to work out where support for shops comes from and measure the economic health of the town.
The full results of the 2013 benchmarking will be available early next year.
