New Warminster gymnastics and trampoline centre Springboard Gymnastics will be holding a festival for Key Stage 1 pupils from schools across the town next month with the help of Kingdown School.

The purpose-built facility, which was fitted with the help of manufacturer Gymnova, features brand new gymnastics and trampoline equipment and offers a wide variety of classes to suit all ages and abilities.

Springboard Gymnas-tics is owned and run by friends Janna Panter and Suzy Creese, who have been coaching in local sports centres, including Warminster Sports Centre, and schools for over 20 years.

The festival, which takes place on March 11, will give children the opportunity to try out all of the facilities in a planned routine with support from a few student leaders from Kingdown School.

Miss Panter said: “The Warminster Schools Key Stage 1 Gym Fest is being held here at Springboard and is open to all Warminster Primary Schools. It’s part of our drive to get more gymnastics into PE sessions.

“We are already working with a number of schools in the area to offer specialist coaching as part of the school curriculum. Coaching sessions can take place either at the school or at our facility on a sole use hourly basis.

“We love working with the schools and the kids that have visited us already have been engaged and enjoyed using the equipment we have on offer as it’s quite different to what they are used to.”

Kingdown School already uses Springboard once a week for their after school club, while Warminster School and Bitham Brook Primary School both have regular slots at the facility in Woodcock Road Industrial estate.

Mrs Creese added: “We opened on January 6 and it has gone really well so far, with lots of positive feedback from the community.

“Many people have said that it’s about time Warminster had a facility like this.”
