A new visitor information panel at St John’s Church in Sutton Veny could help people trace relatives from the First World War.
The churchyard contains 168 First World War burials, 143 of which are Australian, and the panel provides information about the war casualties buried there.
Dr Andrew Murrison, MP for South West Wiltshire, visited the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site on Friday.
“It is something they are doing at their sites in the UK and overseas,” he said.
“People will now have more information which will explain the relevance of these sites.
“A lot of people are very interested in tracing their own family and stories of people who live in their area as a result of the centenary of the First World War. These sites provide some of that information.”
