Residents at Henford House in Warminster made ceramic poppies during their weekly pottery activity group which is run by local potter Alvin Better-idge. “We decided on the project having seen the photos of the poppies at the Tower of London. Everyone really enjoyed being involved and the end result was really very poignant,” commented Alvin.
The poppies were on display in the entrance hall as well as some in the grounds. On the day of the residents’ Remembrance Service three more were added, by Lesley Fudge Warminster RBL area Poppy Appeal organiser, Lt Cpl Michael Patton QRH from the Land Warfare Centre and one on behalf of the Henford House residents by Debbie Phillips, activity organiser.
