The Three Horseshoes Walk shopping mall in Warminster is undergoing a dramatic transformation with new branding, soft landscaping and furniture, free wi-fi, a website and Facebook page after being bought by the UK’s third largest shopping centre owner NewRiver Retail.

New shopping centre manager Peter Ruscoe says there are exciting times ahead for Three Horseshoes Walk next year and although the NRR purchase came too late to organise full mall Christmas decorations, an illuminated Christmas tree was put up at the end of last week.

“We have already freshened and brightened up the mall with extensive deep cleaning, painting the entrances and columns and repairing and installing improved lighting," he said.

“We have been listening to our retailers who said there had not been any Christmas decorations for a number of years but unfortunately there wasn’t time to arrange this for this year, but at least there will be more Christmas spirit with the tree."

Another revolutionary scheme for the centre will be the installation of internet lockers from where customers can collect items bought online.

The click and collect system is designed to help people who are at work and not at home to take delivery of goods during the day.

The centre’s re-branding will include a new logo and as part of the desire to involve the local community, the centre will run a prize competition asking shoppers to choose a winner from three or four examples.

Mr Rusoe plans to organise more events for children and families throughout the year, details of which will be promoted on the new website and on social media.

Stuart Mitchell, associate director at NewRiver Retail, said: "We are delighted to have acquired Three Horseshoes Walk, marking our first investment into Warminster.

"The centre possesses a great deal of potential yet untapped and as very active asset managers we are excited to unlock that potential for the centre and the local community.

"We have started a number of initiatives already including refurbishment of common parts and enhanced marketing and digital presence all working towards creating an improved retail destination and community hub for shoppers."

NewRiver owns 24 shopping centres, 18 high street assets, a supermarket and has what it describes as a portfolio of 202 public houses suitable for conversion to alternative uses.
