Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Warminster in the early hours of New Years Day. The incident took place at approximately 12.15am on January 1 in Manor Gardens.

A 22 year-old man was allegedly attacked by three teenagers as he walked through Manor Gardens. The victim suffered head and torso injuries during the incident which required hospital treatment.

The man has since been released from hospital.

Officers believe the incident may be linked to a further assault in the area earlier in the night.

Two 16 year-old boys and one 15 year-old boy - all from Westbury - were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. All three boys been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police believe a number of people may have witnessed the assault and are keen to hear from anyone who was either in or near to Manor Gardens in the early hours of January 1.
