A critically-acclaimed war film written by Warminster screenwriter Tom Williams is up for a BAFTA award.
Mr Williams, pictured, from Norton Bavant, started working on Kajaki: The True Story with director Paul Katis after making a training film with him for the British Army in 2010.
After researching stories from the Afghanistan conflict, the pair came across the true story of a group of soldiers from the 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment, who were trapped in an unmarked Soviet minefield at the Kajaki Dam in 2006.
The film has now been nominated for the outstanding debut by a British writer, director or producer in 2015 category at this year’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards, which take place on February 8 in London.
