BOULES teams in Wiltshire competing in the Bath Pétanque league are getting a court closer to home as the Tollgate Inn in Holt is to install a pitch.
Owner Mark Hodges, 38, had the idea after playing boules in Queen Square in Bath with a group of friends.
He said: “We really enjoyed it so we thought we could do that here at the Tollgate Inn. Boules is also a family friendly event so everyone can get involved, which made us want to install one even more.”
The village plays boules every Boxing Day with an annual match held on the village green.
