NEEDING a quick bite to eat I decided to stop off at Costa Coffee in Warminster which is difficult not to miss when it takes pride of place in the centre of town.

Although it was just past midday I managed to avoid any lunchtime rush and was being served in only a few minutes and like any coffee shop, there a number of sandwiches, cakes and pastries to choose from.

In the end I decided to go for a toasted brie and bacon panini (£3.95) with a pot of tea (£1.75).

I was surprised it wasn’t busier and decided to make the most of the opportunity to sit in one of the comfy armchairs dotted about the room which are so often already occupied.

The place has a very modern feel to it with leather chairs and tables positioned evenly apart so as not to make it feel cramped and the radio playing in the background creating a lively atmosphere.

My food was brought to me only a couple of minutes after I’d ordered it from the friendly member of staff but I was left disappointed that it didn’t come with any side salad or crisps, like other coffee shops or cafes sometimes provide at no extra charge.

Despite this the panini itself was very nice as it was crispy on the outside but not overdone and the inside was perfectly cooked and was filling.

Total bill came to £5.70.
