MORE than 500 people attended St John’s Primary School summer fete in Warminster at the weekend.

Head teacher Lyn Taylor said: “It went really well and we managed to raise over £1,600, which is absolutely amazing.

“It took a lot of hard work and a dedicated team of parents for the fete to happen but it went well, especially as we didn’t have any rain.

“We also got people from the local community not just those connected with the school to come along which again was good.”

Taking place at the school on Boreham Road from 2pm-4pm, attractions included bouncy castles, raffles, name the teddy and Zumba sessions amongst many others.

A spiritual garden was also unveiled at the school by author and illustrator M.P. Robertson.

The money raised from the fete will go to the Parents-Teacher Association, who will use it to fund a trip to the pantomime and allow year 6six pupils to leave their legacy at the school.

Mrs Taylor added: “Every year pupils who are leaving do something to leave their mark or legacy at the school.

"This year pupils created mosaics which are now in the spiritual garden which will remain at the school even when they’ve left.”
