NEW owners of the Magpie gift shop in Warminster are encouraging shoppers to walk the extra few metres from the centre of town to sample their range of products.

Julia Frankham, along with her husband Robbie, recently took over the store on East Street but are concerned shoppers may not want to venture to the far end of town.

“It’s about trying to make people walk this bit further to see a pretty little shop which has so much to offer,” said Mrs Frankham.

“People may not realise that there are new owners of the shop as we only re-opened last week.

“It’s been dead quiet yet we have so much to offer the shoppers.”

Open from 10am-4pm on Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Saturday, the shop offers a range of gifts including hand decorated ceramics, homewares, bags and purses as well as much more.

It also has a cafe and serves food carefully chosen and sourced from across the UK including sandwiches, pasties and cakes.

Mrs Frankham added: “We tried seven different Cornish pasties because we wanted to find the one that had the most meat filling so we can give the best to our customers.

“We also have Cambridgeshire desserts and I’m getting some from Maison Blanc in London sent to us as well.

“The problem is I’m having to give food away because I don’t want to throw it away at the end of the day.

“We always offer a sandwich or slice of cake to anyone that walks in though, as I believe if you stretch an arm out it comes back to you in other measures.

“I’ve always wanted a cafe and home gift shop and hopefully we can make a success of it.”
