CHILDREN at Wylye Valley Primary School had a pressing day upon their return to school as they made apple juice.
The Year 5 and 6 pupils spent the day collecting apples from Colonel Mike Elcomb’s garden, before using the Codford and Community Apple Pressing Equipment to turn the fruit into juice – harvesting more than 30 litres.
A small orchard as part of the Pippin Project was planted by the school two years ago, which it is hoped will be used in the future to collect apples.
The Codford and Community Apple Press will take place at the Codford Playing Field from 10am on September 20 and 27.
