WARMINSTER School will welcome six wounded veterans next week as they look to complete a 1,000 mile journey across the UK.
The Walk of Britain 2015 expedition will see the wounded service personnel raise awareness for the charity Walking with the Wounded, which re-educates and re-trains injured servicemen and women.
The team of four British and two US wounded veterans will be joined by other wounded personnel each week in different parts of the country.
All six have either physical or cognitive injuries sustained in the line of duty.
Having begun on August 22 in Scotland, the walk will finish in London on November 1 but only after stopping at the Wiltshire school on Tuesday (October 6).
Headmaster Mark Mortimer said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming the Walking with the Wounded team to Warminster School during their inspirational UK walk. It will be an honour to have them here.
“The charity is a wonderful one and the people it helps are magnificent examples of the power of the human spirit.”
