A SUMMER Ball held to raise funds for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre in Warminster managed to collect more than £7,000.

The black tie event was held at Cumberwell Park Golf Club in Bradford on Avon and was attended by more than 100 guests where a meal was served followed by an auction and disco.

Chris Aslett, a member of the therapy centre who has MS, said: “I really wanted to do something to help raise money for the therapy centre.

“I get oxygen therapy there every week and the place is just amazing with so many kind and helpful staff and volunteers.

“It is a completely self-funding charity and I know how hard it is to raise the money to keep it going.”

A total of £7394.69 was raised for the centre, which offers physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, counselling and many more services to help those battling the chronic neurological disease which can lead to long term disability.

Rosie Eliot, manager at the therapy centre, said: “It was a fantastic evening with some amazing prizes in the auction.

“Thank you to everyone who donated a prize and to those who came along on the night and help to make it such a success and to the band The Blues Others.”
