EXCITEMENT is building in Warminster as the Duchess of Cambridge is due to visit the town on Thursday.

The Duchess, whose visit will be covered by the Wiltshire Times, will be visiting Action on Addiction and its Centre for Addiction Treatment Studies located at Manor House, on Ash Walk, in her role as patron for the charity.

She will see the work it does in providing training, education and professional development for those working in addiction and other related fields.

She will also join in a ceremony celebrating the centre’s ten-year partnership with the University of Bath.

Tim Leighton, director of Professional Education and Research at Action on Addiction, said: “Her Royal Highness has visited a number of Action on Addiction’s services already and has seen addiction treatment of individuals and families first hand.

“We are delighted that The Duchess is keen to visit the education and professional development arm of the charity to find out more about training of the people delivering that treatment, and those who will be delivering it in the future across the field.”

The Mayor of Warminster, Councillor Sue Fraser, said: “We are delighted that Warminster has the honour of hosting the Duchess on her first visit to Wiltshire.”

Full coverage of The Duchess' visit will be in this week's Wiltshire Times.
