A WARMINSTER man is searching for a new home for a rescue dog from Cyprus.

Des Brittain, 67 of Ruskin Drive, Warminster, chose to foster a dog from Cyprus earlier this year following the death of his beloved pet he had for 12 years in July. Now two years old, the foster dog Manny is looking for a new home and a family that will take good care of him.

Mr Brittain said: “My dog died this year, I had him for 12 years, and sadly he had to be put down. A friend then suggested maybe looking into getting a foster dog so she put me in touch with D.O.G Rescue Cyprus (Dali). I went on their page on Facebook and got in contact, not long after I had someone come down to do a house check.”

The organisation tries to find homes for dogs that are found on the street in Cyprus or dogs that are in pounds that may be put down.

“After getting in contact I had my name put down on a list, a woman then brought Manny round to my house. He was only three hours away from being put down. I am looking after him until I can find him a permanent home, I am not ready for a permanent dog at the moment. You do get very attached, I want to find him a loving home. He is small and friendly, he still needs a bit of lead training but he is house trained, has had all his jabs and is very well natured,” continued Mr Brittain.

Manny is still looking for a home, if anyone is interested in giving him a place to live then Mr Brittain can be contacted by called 01985 215 302 or by emailing desbrittain@hotmail.com.
