BIRDWATCHERS will have the ideal chance to see some of Wiltshire’s birds on Saturday.

A birdwatching walk, organised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, will run from 9.30-11.30am at its Winterbourne Downs nature reserve in Newton Tony.

Morwenna Alldis, spokesperson for the RSPB South West, said: “If you’ve ever heard a fluting birdsong and wondered which species the melody belongs to; or if you’ve longed to put a name to a certain feathered face hopping around your garden – then we have the perfect morning out for you.”

This event is part of the organisation’s 'Save our Magnificent Meadows' project.

Nicola Quinn, RSPB Wiltshire reserves warden, said: “We look forward to offering you a warm welcome to our beautiful Wiltshire nature reserve.

"We will enjoy a gentle stroll around the nature trail whilst offering tips and guidance about identifying our most regularly seen birds.

“As well as common species such as, blackbirds, blue tits, hedge sparrows and goldfinches, walkers will also hopefully spot blackcap, cornbunting and goldcrest with a following wind.

“This will be a relaxed and fun approach to bird watching that should appeal to all members of the family this bank holiday weekend.”
