INSPIRE of Warminster returns to Warminster next Saturday (Saturday, July 16) with a diverse line-up of local performers.

Now in its fourth year, the festival will take over the town’s park from 1pm until 7pm with refreshments provided by the Field Kitchen, Organ Inn and Pavilion Café and of course a wealth of musical talent.

Inspire’s mission is to try and inspire people of all ages to learn to play an instrument to improve their general wellbeing. Organiser Veronica Mills said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s event, it’s set to be another fantastic showcase of local talent.

“Inspire is all about giving new bands an opportunity to show what they can do.” and this year’s acts are all very much looking forward to performing.”

To tie in with Inspire’s mission, free music workshops will be held during the day at the Lakeside Community Centre, where musicians will be available for some hands-on sessions.

Acts performing on the day include Outline, an up and coming acoustic duo who take inspiration from Ed Sheeran with the use of two guitars, two voices and a loop station.

They will follow duo Ben and Tim, who will be the first act to perform on the day. They’re an acoustic duo who are well established on the local scene and have a fun approach to their music.

The event will close with a rocking finale from headliners State of Quo, labelled as ‘easily the best Quo tribute band going’ by Classic Rock Magazine.

Emerging talent from Kingdown School will also feature on the day, with Rose Between Two Thorns, who recently won Kingdown’s battle of the bands competition, strutting their stuff.

Event organiser Veronica Mills said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Inspire as we have a great line-up which includes a lot of young performers, supporting Inspire’s mission to encourage young people to learn to play an instrument.

“We’re hoping the audience will be as impressed as we have been with our young talent as well as enjoying our more experienced musicians. Fingers crossed for good weather.”
