PUB landlords have been left devastated and frightened after two men broke into their pub and stole £700 from the till.

As Natalie Dew and her partner Lee Strong slept in their bedroom above the Yew Tree pub in Warminster early on Saturday morning, the building was broken into by men who stole cash and raided every room.

Police were called at 9.50am and are now investigating. The landlords have released CCTV images of the two men on the pub's Facebook page.

Miss Dew said: “It’s really frightening to know that they were in our house and actually came upstairs where we were sleeping.

“We’re only a small pub and it’s sometimes hard to pay the bills, so £700 is a massive amount to us and will affect the business. It’s heart-breaking as we have worked so hard to get the pub up and running and then something like this happens.

“Lee and I are both very stressed, annoyed and frightened but we’re also very thankful that neither of us were harmed – it could have been far worse.

“It’s a really horrible feeling. I burst into tears when I saw the CCTV images for the first time. I don’t feel safe in my own home now, it feels like we’ve been targeted.”

The robbery happened in broad daylight at around 6.30am as cars were driving past. If you saw anything or have any information, contact police on 101.
