POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three pubs were targeted in one day.

A safe, which contained no money, was stolen from The Swan Inn, Warminster Road, Stoford, at around 8.15am on Saturday.

Then at 9.50am, police received a call reporting a break-in at The Yew Tree in Boreham Road, Warminster, where £700 in cash was stolen from the till.

Following that, a report came into police at 7.50pm that money had been stolen from The Butt of Sherry, Castle Street, Mere, at some point during the day.

DC Kev Keast, of Trowbridge CID, said: “We are keeping an open mind in relation to these three incidents, however, we are exploring the possibility that they are all linked.

“We’d like to appeal to anyone who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously, or any suspicious vehicles, at the three venues, during the course of Saturday, to please get in touch with police immediately via 101.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be crucial to our investigation. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
