POLICE were called to reports of a robbery and possible assault at Warminster Railway Station at around 8.30pm on Thursday, July 14.
After arriving at the scene, a search was conducted but no injured person was found and no victim of robbery made themselves known.
Police then spoke to witnesses and it became clear that a drunk man had dialled 999 as a hoax.
His details have been passed to the British Transport Police to investigate.
The following day, at around 5.45pm, a 28-year-old man from the Warminster area contacted police via the emergency 999 line to report a man with a knife and another who had died.
A number of officers left their commitments to attend the scene but upon arrival it became clear that there was no man with a knife and nobody was dead.
The man then admitted that it was a hoax and was issued with a £90 fixed penalty notice for wasting police time.
