PUPILS at Kingdown School in Warminster celebrated their impressive results today as they collected their dreaded envelopes at the school.

Of the 114 pupils who sat A-level examinations, some of the top performing were Alexander Adlam with 3 A*s, Natasha Kozlowski with 3 A*s, Kahlan Newman with 3 A*s and one A and Rhys Morgan with 1 A* and 3 As.

Head teacher Sara Edwards said: “The top end have performed extremely well this year but it’s not just about the top end – it’s about every student.

“I’m absolutely delighted with how everyone has done, it’s the end result of great teamwork and dedication from staff and students.

“Look around at the smiley faces, there’s such a buzz in the air. It’s great to see. We wish them all the best with their future endeavours.”

Kahlan Newman, 18, was one of the top performing pupils at Kingdown School with 3 A*s and 1 A in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths respectively.

She said: “I’m absolutely delighted with my results. I’m now going to study Medicine at Southampton University, which I’m really looking forward to.

“I worked very hard but it was worth it. I’m going on holiday with my family to the Maldives tomorrow, so that will be a great way to celebrate.”

Henry Hockley, 18, from Horningsham, also achieved highly with an A in Maths, an A in History and a B in Chemistry.

He said: “I’m very happy as I’m now off to study Law at Leicester, starting in September.

“I’m not sure yet whether I’ll miss it that much as I really want a change of scenery. I’m looking forward to the next chapter.

“I wasn’t that nervous about today as I had an unconditional place but I’m still really glad it’s over.”

Alex Donnelly, 18, from Warminster, got BBC. He said: “I’m definitely happy with what I got, I’m now off to Aberystwyth to study Marine Biology which I’m really looking forward to.

“I haven’t really thought about whether or not I’ll miss Warminster but I don’t think so as I’m looking forward to moving to a new place and studying the course.”

Daniella Whiting, 18, from Warminster, got A*, A, B and is now going to take a gap year.

She said: “I’m really happy with what I got and am now looking forward to travelling and getting some work experience on my gap year.

“After that I want to study Physiotherapy, hopefully at Bournemouth. It’s a difficult course and a nice place.”

Bryony Boath, 18, from Heytesbury, got 2 A*s and one A and is now going to study Veterinary Medicine in London at The Royal Veterinary College.

She said: “I was really nervous about today but now I’m so happy with my results.

“I will miss Kingdown, I don’t know anyone else from here going to London so it will be exciting meeting new people.

“I’m going to go out with friends to have a few drinks to celebrate.”
