KINGDOWN School in Warminster celebrated a rise in results compared to last year, with 98.5 per cent of pupils achieving five GCSEs grade A* to G and 59.7 per cent achieving A* to C in English and Mathematics.

Headteacher Sara Edwards said: “I’m really proud of everyone, it’s a great set of results and we’ve seen a lot of progression over the last five or six years.

“So many students are leaving with a really strong set of results which will allow them to progress to the next stage of their lives.

“We wish them all well."

One of the school’s top performers was Rupa Budha, 16, from Warminster, who got 7 A*s and 2 As.

She said: “I am delighted with my results and pretty shocked as I was not expecting to get so many A*s, I can’t wait to tell my family.

“I’m going to study Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths at Kingdown next year.

“I am going to have a takeaway with friends to celebrate.”

Kieran Strong, 16, from Corsley, also did well, achieving 8 As, 1 B and 1 C.
