PLANNING application for the ‘Continuing Care Retirement Community’ which will be built on land to the north of Grovelands Way, Warminster, was officially submitted to Wiltshire Council on August 31.

According to Graham Benjamin, 62, of nearby Norridge View, the application, proposed by Ace Retirement Ltd, has been submitted without proper notice given to residents.

He said: "Only three houses on our road were consulted before the application was put in but it will affect all of us, so we all should have been consulted.

"I have seen no green Wiltshire Council signs regarding the planning application either, which is what is supposed to happen, so it seems like they don’t want people to know about it in my opinion."

The plans include a care home, bungalows and extra care apartments for people aged 55 and over as well as a convenience store, wildlife site, new play area and medical centre.

A Wiltshire Council spokesperson said: "This application is still early in the process. More than 200 neighbours have been consulted by letter and the green site notice should be up by the end of this week."
