PUPILS, staff and governors celebrated the new building at The Minster School in Warminster on Wednesday (October 12) when the Bishop of Ramsbury visited to give it his blessing.

The new building includes four classrooms for Reception through to Year 3, the main office and the head teacher’s new office.

Dr Edward Condry said: “I was really pleased to go along and bless the new building at the wonderful Warminster school, it was a real privilege to be asked.

“The children were all very happy and clearly impressed with their new surroundings and it was also lovely meeting the staff and governors.

“The new building looks really fantastic and is a brilliant addition to the school, I hope the children enjoy using it in the future.”

The new building was completed at the end of January this year on what was the school’s playground.

Before it was completed, pupils had lessons in huts which have now been knocked down and replaced with a new playground.

Head teacher of the school, Lisa Tudor, said: “Children and staff were delighted to welcome Bishop Edward into our school.

“He met all of the children and staff, talked to them about how much they are enjoying the new building and facilities.

“He offered a blessing and wished us all well. This was a special occasion enjoyed by all including members of our governing body and reverends Desrosiers and Owen from The Minster Church.”
