A RETIRED police officer and intrepid unidentified flying objects hunter is looking for people to share their encounters in Warminster for a book he is writing.

John Hanson and his partner Dawn Holloway are currently researching and interviewing people for their new book called Haunted Skies: Wiltshire focusing on a range of strange events from sightings of the 'Thing' to experiences on Cradle Hill in the 1970s.

He said: "I have published eleven volumes of books after I decided to catalogue what people have seen. We decided to do a special edition for Warminster and Wiltshire because we have been in and out of Warminster for years and it is like our second home.

"We want it written down so that people can look back on history and see what has happened and Wiltshire has been a good place for all of this. We just want to present the evidence and let the public to make up their own minds.

"In the twentieth century so many strange things happened that should be recorded and time is running out - it is important to do it."
