WARMINSTER’S Apprentice candidate Oliver Nohl-Oser believes he was integral to Alana Spencer's win in the final, which aired on BBC1 on Sunday evening.

Mr Nohl-Oser was fired in the third episode of the series but claims he redeemed himself in the all-important final, which was viewed by 6.1 million people across the UK.

The owner of UK-wide sausage distribution company, The Cumbrian Sausage, was left alone to come up with the eventual winner’s packaging design and did a 'good job' in the discerning eyes of Lord Sugar.

“It could have gone very downhill had Lord Sugar or Alana not liked my packaging but fortunately they did and I think that contributed to Alana’s win,” said the 33-year-old.

“It was a huge call to go against Alana’s word and I was extremely nervous about it but it paid off in the boardroom. I would say I was integral to the victory for that reason.

“To get complemented by both Alana and Lord Sugar was fantastic and is something which lots of people picked up on.”

The former Army man, who trained at the Army Officer Selection Board in Westbury in 1999, reckons he can be a real asset to Alana’s luxury cake company in the future.

He added: “Due to my background in the food industry I think I can really benefit Alana’s company and using my contacts I’ve already landed her a big interview with Tesco next year.

“Lord Sugar is aware of my background in the food industry and knows that I managed to get Alana an interview at Tesco which is great.

“I hope to keep in touch with both of them to make her company as successful as it can be.”

As well as helping the 24-year-old secure Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment, the Warminster man has also reaped the benefits of featuring on the hit show.

“Taking part in the show has done wonders for the company. There has been a 40 per cent increase in sales at Tesco for our products and we’ve also had a spike in website views.

“Not only that but I’ve also been spotted a few times out and about which is quite funny. I was coming through border control in Brussels recently and one of the officers recognised me.

“Of course it was also a laugh receiving the award for the most awkward hug on You're Hired, although that was mainly thanks to the force of Paul.”
