CENTER Parcs has unveiled plans for two new innovative rides which it hopes to open this summer.

The slides will form part of the attraction’s revamped Subtropical Swimming Paradise.

The adrenaline-fuelled water slide additions, Tropical Cyclone and Typhoon, both feature 'thrilling light and sound experiences', offering immersive nature-inspired themes for the rider to select ahead of a ‘truly bespoke experience’.

The colossal Tropical Cyclone is the largest interactive four-person raft ride in Europe and features a cyclone with a diameter of 15 metres, which will act as canvas for the projections, lights and sounds displayed from the AV technology.

Riders will be given the chance to choose from themes such as the forest, nature, jungles and waterfalls before heading into the ride.

Lasting 45-60 seconds and with a top speed of 40km/h, the ride offers 142 metres of twists, turns and sways with the giant cone drop tipping riders at an angle that gives riders a zero-gravity experience for a second before propelling them down the tube to a splash pool.

The Typhoon also offers a light and sound experience which is sure to excite visitors.

A single or two-person ride, Typhoon whips riders through tubes and cones for up to a minute, reaching a top speed of 40km/h along its 140-metre length – giving the rider a multi-sensory experience.

There are also two new areas included in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise revamp – a family water play area and a toddler pool.

These new areas will see families whizzing down brightly lit tubes, spraying each other with spouts and having fun in the water from the hidden giant tipping buckets and much more.

Colin Whaley, marketing director at Center Parcs, said: “We are always looking at ways to keep building on the great family experience we offer guests and are very proud of the new features that will soon be coming to the Longleat Forest Subtropical Swimming Paradise.

“We’ve really pushed the boundaries of what is possible with water rides with the launch of Tropical Cyclone and Typhoon at Longleat Forest, so that families can enjoy something unique and exciting.

“We hope that these additions will thrill families and play a big part in their adventures together.”
