PUPILS from a dance school in Warminster danced their socks off as they staged their own musical and film showcase.

The budding dancers from Little Jems wowed audiences at Writhlington School in Radstock on March 4 and 5.

Principal of the school, Jemma Stickley, said: "I really could not be more proud.

“Each and every pupil danced their heart out.

“We had a great crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy the performances.

“It took a lot of hard work getting ready but it all came together really well.”

The dance school, comprising children aged two to 18 who practice at Little Urchins Softplay, performed tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary and hip hop dances from musicals and films from the Jungle Book and Billy Elliot to Annie and Oliver.

Katrina Brown, mum of Ella, said: “I really enjoyed watching the show, it was absolutely amazing and that’s all down to Jemma and the girls.

“Jemma should be really proud of herself for organising such a fantastic show.

“Ella wanted to give up ballet before joining Little Jems but she truly loves her lessons and not only looks forward to her classes each week, but she now also practices at home all the time and wants to be involved and help the little ones too as dancing is her passion.”
