A MAN had his phone and wallet stolen in Warminster after being subjected to a brutal and scary unprovoked attack.

The 26-year-old was walking along Boreham Road at around 12.30am on Saturday, June 3 when he was punched to the back of the head from behind.

After knocking him to the ground, the two thugs ran ahead of him down the road.

The victim then made a phone call on his mobile when the males came back towards him and punched him again in the face and in his ribs. He was then pushed to the ground and his wallet and mobile phone were stolen.

The first man is described as white, around 5ft10 inches tall and wearing a light grey hoody with the hood up. The second man is also described as white, 5ft8 inches tall and wearing a white t-shirt.

PC Karen Haddrell, of Melksham CID, said: "This was understandably a scary incident which left the victim feeling shaken. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured.

"I'd like to reassure the local community that we are carrying out a detailed investigation into this incident and we would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident take place to get in touch."
