WARMINSTER’S annual Inspire festival on Sunday broke records in its fifth year, attracting over 500 people.

Over 500 people attended as the fifth year of the festival went ahead, more than organisers have ever seen before.

The event aims to inspire young people to take up playing music by showcasing local talent .

Younger generations can enjoy live music in a family friendly setting, with workshops to let youngsters have a go at playing different musical instruments to see what they enjoy.

Town Council admin officer and and member of the organising committee Veronica Mills said: “Lots of people brought picnics and really made a day of it.

“If just one person was inspired to take up an instrument the event would have succeeded.”

People of many different generations took to the stage, including the Military Wives Choir and Warminster Ukelele Club.

The festival has been funded by Warminster Town Council since it first launched in 2013, and it has been growing ever since.

Plans for next year’s Inspire festival are now coming together, and organisers are hopeful it will be just as much of a success.
