TWO men have been jailed and given a community sentence after two related incidents of shoplifting in Warminster and Trowbridge.
On October 2 at 2.40pm, officers were called to Boots, Market Place in Warminster following reports of a number of people having been detained for Shoplifting.
Officers attended the scene and arrested two men and a woman. The theft was linked to a further theft that had occurred at Tesco, County Way in Trowbridge, where two other men were arrested.
As a result, 25-year-old Simon-Costel Nica, of Hornchurch, Essex and Viorel Predoi, a 39-year-old of Baring Road, Northampton were charged with theft by Shoplifting.
Both men appeared before Swindon Remand Court on October 4 and pleaded guilty, bail was refused.
Nica and Predoi were sentenced to 8 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, and to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
The other four people involve were released with no further action taking place.
