A WARMINSTER father has come tenth in the World’s Strongest Man competition after qualifying in December.

Lee Osment, 32, of St Andrew’s Road, took part in the England, Britain and Europe competitions to qualify for the world competition in North Carolina, America where he came tenth in the world out of 30 competitors in his category.

Mr Osment has been training four to five times a week for the last year in preparation for the competitions, as well as sticking to a strict diet.

He said: “I was so pleased to qualify for the worlds competition, I set myself a goal to qualify in my first four years of training, but I managed to do it in my first year.

“I would like to thank my family and friends who sponsored me and helped to get me to America for the competition.

“It would have been very hard for me to compete if it wasn’t for them.”

Mr Osment’s wife, Louise, said: “Lee has put in an incredible amount of work and both me and our little girl Bella are extremely proud of him.”

He hopes to qualify for World’s Strongest Man again this year.
