STAFF at Longleat Safari Park have confirmed the fire which a crew from Warminster was called out to on Wednesday night was a controlled fire.
The crew arrived at Longleat at 10pm on Wednesday night (March 21) and extinguished a small fire 250 metres away from the forestry offices.
A spokesperson from the safari park has confirmed no animals were harmed, and the fire was a bonfire which was part of a controlled programme of burning within the forestry area, and posed no risk to people or property.
The park has thanked the fire service for their assistance in putting the fire out.
