Trowbridge man held after crash

A TROWBRIDGE man was charged with drink-driving and possession of an offensive weapon after crashing into a lamppost near Widbrook Grange at 4am on Sunday.
Ahmed Ridal, 35, was arrested following the incident on the A363, in Trowbridge Road.
Engineers from Southern Electric were called to the scene and spent several hours on Sunday attempting to repair the power supply and make the lamppost safe.
Ridal is expected to appear at North West Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court in Chippenham on November 30.
Wiltshire Police are still appealing for anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them by calling 101.
