A Welshman has admitted breaking into a business in Westbury and then driving away in a stolen car.

Jonathan Phillips pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and driving a conveyance taken without authority when he appeared at Swindon crown court on Friday.

The 44-year-old stole car keys and tools during the break in on Station Approach, Westbury, between September 4 and September 7.

And during the same dates he admitted driving the stolen Vauxhall Corsa, which was later photographed crossing over the Severn Bridge.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday January 17 for pre-sentence reports and released Phillips, of Aberdare, in south Wales, on bail until then.
