It is a tradition that the bells of All Saints Church, Westbury are rung at midnight on New Year’s Eve to welcome in the New Year.
This year the ringers were treble, Sara Honor, 2, Yvonne Fitch (not pictured), 3, Pam Clarke, 4, Peter Baker (Captain), 5, Mark Houseman, 6, Bill Clarke, 7, Adam Ricketts, tenor, Chris Jenkins.
After a short session to warm up, the tenor struck 12 strokes for midnight. This was followed by ringing 260 Grandsire Doubles, with treble and bell 2 leading.
A short Watchnight service was conducted in the ringing chamber by the Rev Jonathon Burke, Westbury’s Team Rector.
