Year 6 children from Westbury Junior school successfully completed a sponsored walk to raise funds towards a residential trip to Hooke Court in Dorset.
The children set off from school first thing in the morning and walked the 8.5mile round trip to the Westbury White Horse. Many got extremely muddied as severe storms the night before had left the ground very wet. But it didn’t manage to dampen their spirits.
The view from the top of the White Horse was not as good as it could have been, but the horse itself could be seen. Year 6 teacher Mrs Duffy said “The children did really well to make it up despite the conditions.
“They were all very tired and ready for their beds when we got back!”
All the money raised will go towards the cost of the coaches to take the children on the trip this month.
