POLICE have confirmed the ages of three men who died in a crash at the West Wiltshire Trading Estate in Westbury last night.

A silver Citroen Saxo hit a blue articulated lorry, the collision being reported to police just before 10.30pm, and the three in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

Wiltshire Police say that they are two men aged 20 from Trowbridge and an 18-year-old from Devizes.

It is thought that the 44-tonne lorry was parked and police say the driver was uninjured.

Quartermaster Road was closed for seven hours whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

Flowers have been laid at the accident site and the Rev David Coppard, of Westbury Methodist Church in Station Road, has said that the congregation will honour the victims in the service tomorrow at 10am.

He said: “We will be thinking of the families of those involved in the trading estate accident and we will be lighting a candle for them.”

Andrew Murrison, MP for South West Wiltshire, tweeted: "So very sad at deaths of 3 young men in RTA in Westbury last night. Prayers with families. Too many youngsters dying on Wilts roads."

Tammy Newbury posted on Facebook: "Yet another awful sad tragic day...

"Lives taken so suddenly...couldn't imagine what their loved ones parents' families are going through at this time...but our hearts go out to you... three lads so young.. but certainly never forgotten.

Police are appealing for any witnesses of the collision to come forward.

Supt Gavin Williams said: "This is a tragic incident where three people have lost their lives and my thoughts are with their family and friends during this extremely difficult time.

"I would ask that if anyone has any information about this collision to contact Wiltshire Police as soon as possible."

Witnesses can contact PC Frank Katus from the Road Policing Unit at Police Headquarters in Devizes on 101, email frank.katus@wiltshire.pnn.police.co.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.

Formal identification has yet to take place.

It is the third fatal accident on Wiltshire's roads in less than a month.

On November 15 passenger Max Lewis, 19, died in a collision near Melksham, while a week later Max Pearson, 21, was killed when his car hit a tree in Savernake Forest, Marlborough.
