Children at Bitham Brook Primary School, in Westbury, put on their eye-patches, raised their Jolly Rogers and set sail for the seven seas as they took part in a pirate-themed day.
The day was held to fit in with the school’s Around the World topic and the would-be Blackbeards took part in a number of different activities.
Pupils made pirate hats, Treasure Island cupcakes and went on a treasure hunt, as well as learning pirate songs and a dance.
Teachers Mrs Roff and Miss Cooper said: “The children were full of excitement about being pirates for the day and tackled all their pirate challenges with great enthusiasm and determination.
“As a result they will develop their vocabulary and create some quality writing.
“The children had an excellent day, full of fun with some great learning opportunities.”
