A SPECIAL meeting has been called tomorrow to discuss plans for Westbury bypass.
Last week, Wiltshire County Council revealed its new 'wildlife friendly' plans for the A350 bypass scheme.
Now Westbury Town Council has called an extraordinary meeting to take place tomorrow night.
David Bullock, the council's principal highway engineer, will present the plans to town councillors.
County council chiefs say the long awaited bypass will reduce traffic in the centre of Westbury by half as well as delivering £1.3m of improvements to the town centre.
It will also give motorists greater certainty over journey times on the A350 and improve transport links for local businesses.
The proposed route of the new single carriageway road skirts round the eastern side of the town, from a new roundabout near the cement works then rejoining the current A350 at Madbrook Farm on the road to Warminster.
If the latest planning application is approved, it will be followed by a public exhibition and publication of draft orders for compulsory purchase of land.
