WESTBURY dad David Anderson who is hoping to cycle 346 miles across four countries in four days is pedalling his way towards his target of £2,000 after donations from customers at Morrisons in Warminster.

The 30-year-old of Brabant Way is taking part in the Race to the Sun from May 21-26, making his way through Switzerland, France, Italy and Monaco.

And the storeman at Westbury Park Engineering managed to raise more than £400 by cycling on a turbo trainer at the front of the store located on Weymouth Street on March 28.

All the money raised will go towards the Hearts & Minds foundation, which help people with autism including Mr Anderson’s seven-year-old son, Ashton.

Mr Anderson, who will also be doing the ride alongside his 54-year-old Steven and other riders, said: “With the help of my family including my sons, Ashton, seven, and Lucas, five, my wife Amy and others holding the charity buckets and the kind generosity of people shopping in Morrisons we raised a whopping £403.96 in five hours and I cycled the equivalent of 100 miles.

“Training is going well I’m now cycling 100 miles and cycling the equivalent to 30 miles every night on the turbo trainer at home.”
