CHILDREN and staff at Dilton Marsh Primary School delved into their favourite books and became their beloved characters for a dress-up day earlier this week.
Headteacher Charlotte Hyde said: “We wanted to do a nice big school event that everyone could take part in.
“We’re looking to refurbish the library and as it was Roald Dahl day on Sunday we thought a book theme was something we could do.
“We had Where’s Wally and Harry Potter costumes and lots of princesses and a little boy in Year 1 dressed as a lion from the Wizard of Oz.
“They had a great day and absolutely loved it.
“They spent part of the week drawing their favourite characters as well which will be used as part of a mural in the new library.
“We just want to make it more children friendly and encourage them to read in it.”
