FITNESS dance group Pole-Da-Cise were a swinging success at their tenth anniversary event in Westbury’s White Horse Country Park, raising nearly £5,000.

Funds from the event, which took place on October 10, will go to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and takes the total money raised by the groups in Westbury and Melksham over the years to £50,000.

Owner and founder Lisa Henderson, said: “We have raised more than £50,000 for local charities over the years and we’re really proud of that.

“We had a guest speaker from the Wiltshire Air Ambulance who told people where the money was going and we also had a raffle as well with prizes donated by local businesses, so special thanks to them.

“This year it was all about music eras, so we had songs from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s up to the present day and we had instructors from the past who no longer work for us but came along to support the show.

“The ladies work so hard for the charities each year and it’s really nice to see that it’s worth it.

“These ladies come to a fitness class once or twice a week and they feel empowered to perform in front of 400 people.

“They come to us at the start of the year and wouldn’t dream or performing in front of their friends and then they love it and want to do it again.”
