ERLESTOKE House farm shop, based at HMP Erlestoke, has raised more than £2,000 since opening five weeks ago.

The money that has been raised will be used to help the rehabilitation of the prisoners of Erlestoke by paying for more materials and resources for the prisoners to use, helping them to learn new transferable skills for when they are released.

Janine Hodson, who runs the shop, said: “We’ve had really good feedback from both prisoners and visitors, who can come and see that while their partner or family member is in prison, they are doing something worthwhile. You can’t underestimate the value of that.

"In the workshop, you can really see that the prisoners are proud of what they do and are focused on it. They have something to work towards which is really good.”

The shop is open between 12 and 3pm every Thursday and Friday and 12 and 2pm every Saturday until December 19, when it will close for Christmas.
